Description As a successful trial attorney for over thirty-one years, Carolyn St. Clair, RN, BSN JD, combines legal expertise with her medical background to represent clients injured or killed by medical products, dangerous drugs or the negligence of others. After working with heart surgeons, Dr. Michael DeBakey and Dr. Denton Cooley, St. Clair began her law career as a Supreme Court of Texas briefing attorney with Justice C. L. Ray. Working on personal injury, medical device and toxic exposure cases with iconic legal legends, John O’Quinn, Joe Jamail and Jim Kronzer, she amassed a wealth of knowledge in courtroom skills and trial strategies. St. Clair has enhanced her career with negotiation, mediation, and arbitration education at the Harvard Law School Negotiation Institute.

St. Clair’s combination of medical, legal and judicial briefing experience enables her to quickly analyze case facts and health issues to maximize client’s awards. We begin to prosecute cases upon receipt of the client’s contract, in complete contrast to advertsing firms that gather and warehouse files for years. Readily available for free consultations, the office also releases a monthly enewsletter and quarterly reports of the status of the litigation in trial or settlement.

From across the country, lawyers, medical professionals and clients refer clients and cases to Carolyn St. Clair. Limiting the docket to injury cases that can be proved to a jury by scientific and medical evidence, St. Clair understands the multiple health, legal and financial issues that overwhelm injured clients and is accessible to hear their concerns.

She has been recognized by her peers for inclusion in exclusive organizations including: The Top 25 Mass Tort Trial Lawyers, The Top 100 National Trial Lawyers, The National Association of Distinguished Counsel, The Top 25 Medical Malpractice Lawyers, Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Rating for Legal Ability and Ethical Standards awarded the highest possible distinction by both her peers and the Judiciary, The Top 25 National Women Trial Lawyers and Top 25 Motor Vehicle Trial Lawyers.

Carolyn is a former President of the University of Texas School of Nursing at Houston Alumni Association and served on the University of Texas Health Science Center Development Board for the medical, dental, public health and nursing schools. She held board positions and contributes to the Leukemia Society, Baylor College of Medicine Partnership, Rose Ribbon Cancer Reconstruction Foundation, Michael Bolton Women and Children at Risk Project, Melvin Belli Society, March of Dimes, Vogel Alcove Homeless Women and Children Foundation, End Hunger and Citizens for Animal Protection. She is member of The New York Bar, The State Bar of Texas, Southern Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice, Houston Trial Lawyers Association, Houston Bar Association, the Association of Women Attorneys, and a Lifetime Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.
